Modern 1:100,000 maps
(covers the entire country)
This modern series of topographic maps, based on the work of the Polish military, offers greater detail than the comprehensive 1:200,000 atlases above. In color, folded. Not indexed. A total of 151 maps cover the entire country. C$12.00 each

Maps of former German areas
(modern, two languages)
These maps, published in Germany by Höfer Verlag, are highly recommended. Use them as a quick cross-reference in your research -- you don't have to check two different sources to see the old and new names. These maps can take the mystery out of the name changes of the 20th century. And, since they are modern, they can also be used when planning travel in those areas. C$17.95 each

Maps of Middle Europe
This series of 265 maps includes parts of Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Albania, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Russia, Ukraine, and Romania. It includes hard-to-find areas such as Galicia, Volhynia, Bessarabia and Podolia. There are several maps per country. Virtually every village is shown, along with topographic features. C$16.95 each

Marco Polo Polska Atlas Drogowy -- 1:200,000 Road Atlas of Poland
(POL012) Just released! The eighth edition, dated 2007-2008, showing the freeway construction done over the past couple of years. By Marco Polo (formerly RV Verlag, and formerly Euro Atlas). This is the best Polish atlas. There are 236 pages of maps (1:200,000), a 75-page town-name index, eight regional maps (1:100,000) that show main arterials, 65 city maps (1:20,000) that show major streets, and four general maps (1:4,000,000) of Central Europe. Please note that "Atlas Drogowy" is not the brand name; bookstores and gas bars in Poland sell a variety of atlases that say "Atlas Drogowy," and some are available elsewhere in North America. If it doesn't say Marco Polo, Euro-Atlas or Marco Polo, it's not the best. This atlas has a wire spiral binding, so the pages turn easily. 8-1/2" by 11-1/2", in color. 395 pages. C$50.00

Polska Atlas Drogowy -- First Edition Index
A listing of 90,000 placenames in Poland, with references to voivodships, from the first edition of the Polska Atlas Drogowy. Subsequent editions did not include the voivodships, which are key to genealogical research (although not to tourists, apparently). This index, which includes a map identifying the location of the voivodships, should be used in conjunction with the Atlas Drogowy above. 80 pages, softcover with spiral binding so the pages turn more easily. Our exclusive publication, done with permission from the original publisher. (This is a new version of this index, adding the map and the spiral binding.) C$8.95

1:1,000,000 Scale Map of Poland
Published in Germany by Höfer Verlag. This is a bilingual (German and Polish) map covering the entire country of Poland. Where appropriate, names of towns and cities are shown in both languages. This map doesn't have the same detail found in a 1:200,000 map, but helps to put the different regions into perspective. C$17.95

1:16,500 Scale Street Map of Breslau / Wroclaw
Published in Germany by Höfer Verlag. This bilingual (German and Polish) map shows the streets and main features and attractions in Wroclaw, which was formerly known as Breslau. It is a superb resource for people doing research in the city. C$17.95

Poland 1817 map reprint
M37 N. R. Hewitt's map of Poland was first issued in London in 1817. Showing Poland divided into its internal palatinates, the map has rich detail, locating cities, small towns and villages. Because this map contains different cartographic information - and many different village and town names - the researcher will find it a fine companion piece to the Poland 1799 map by John Cary. Black and white map, printed on 18-inch by 24-inch paper. C$10.50
